Week One – Task – Hyde Park: A second home for university students.

Hyde Park is one of the many areas Leeds offers students to call home.

From the over-flowing bins, rats searching from street to street for their next meal to the wannabe DJs from the South of England.

Without this, plus much more, Hyde Park would not be the Hyde Park students have come to know and eventually adore.

The beauty of LS6 is subjective, but for those in Hyde Park, it is a unique form of perfection.

“It’s a mess, but it’s our mess.”

Those are the words of University of Leeds student Adam Pontefract and Leeds Beckett student Matthew Hooi – gray, who have been friends since Year Seven, are picture below and are Hyde Park residents.

The area has hosted Hollywood actor Chris Pine, musician Corinne Bailey Rae and many more

Third year media student Adam Pontefract said:

“There is so much Hyde Park has to offer from hungover morning debriefs, to late night trips to the 24/7 Sainsbury. I honestly would not live anywhere else.”

Hyde Park is place where friendships can be created, blossom and begin for life.

The ability to get a sweet treat, takeout pizza or a pint all whist being a stones throw from people you’ll know for life is what makes Hyde Park, Hyde Park.
