Week eight reflection

For this week it was about understanding RAW images and how to deal with them and create a workflow that works best for me. After discovering that RAW images maintain better quality but are a bigger file size than the JPEG files. So in terms of my project this has made me consider shooting with RAW images as the quality would be better.

For the task this week my phone didn’t allow me to shoot in RAW so I used the photo that was given to us. After downloading the image I saved it as something that I would be able to find in my files easy. Then once I began editing the image I started with the exposure and brought this down as the image was too exposed. I also experimented with the contrast and found that it worked best when the contrast was increased slightly as it made the model appear less pale and enhanced the colours. This was also the case when experimenting with the highlights as it dulled the background slightly and enhanced the model.

After editing RAW images for the first time I do feel more confident in using RAW images and will be considering it when producing images for my project.
