I used a friend of mine as the subject for all three pictures, the camera I used was that of an iPhone SE (2016). The lowest setting is f 1.4 and the highest is f16. The first picture was taken on the lowest iPhone setting. The second was taken on the highest depth of field setting, Whereas the third image was taken somewhere in the middle at f6. The default setting is f 2.8 but that felt to me as being too low for it to count as my “middle” setting.
With the low f-stop setting, I managed to capture my subject and the background in a fairly even way. Although there is some blur in the background, I believe that this is due to the model itself. When I do my actual project, it likely won’t be on this device unless I can work out a way to improve the footage. The highest setting photo was perfect for focusing completely on a close-range target, and the “middle” setting photo at the end had a similar level of background blur to the low setting, but was slightly more focused on the subject, who was captured in notably higher quality when compared to the background.
